As an Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our engineering team to deliver high-quality features, enhancements, and systems improvements. You’ll focus on supporting your team to achieve departmental goals while fostering a culture of growth, experimentation, and effective performance management.

People Leadership: Support and mentor engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
Performance Management: Implement effective performance metrics and guide the team to deliver consistent, high-quality results.
Technical Strategy: Contribute to technical decisions, ensuring the right balance between feature development and system improvements.
Innovation: Encourage experimentation with modern tools and technologies, including AI, to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Remote Leadership: Navigate the challenges of remote work, using async communication effectively and knowing when to prioritize meetings.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering Team Leads, Product, and other stakeholders to align on priorities and deliver impactful solutions.
The engineering team operates smoothly, delivering features and enhancements consistently and efficiently.
Systems are reliable, scalable, and aligned with business goals.

Effective use of modern tools and technologies to streamline workflows and improve productivity.
Clear performance metrics are in place, and the team is held accountable in a positive, growth-oriented way.
Experience:
3+ years in software development and at least a few years of experience in a leadership role (e.g., Tech Lead, Engineering Manager etc).
Experience in a SaaS startup environment preferred (company size: 100-250 headcount).
Proven track record of remote leadership and async communication.
Skills:
Strong technical background with the ability to guide technical decisions and understand competing solutions.
Business-minded, with a strategic approach to balancing feature development and system improvements.
Experience in change management and guiding teams through transitions.

Working from Europe or an equivalent time zone preferred for overlap purposes
Guiding the team through change and ensuring smooth transitions.
Balancing efficiency with autonomy, avoiding micromanagement.
Assisting with strategic decisions around application and infrastructure design.
Improving performance management and implementing practical metrics.
