At Zanda, we build practice management software used by thousands of health practitioners worldwide. Our goal is to make running a health practice simple, intuitive, and enjoyable.
You'll be the first QA hire on one of our engineering teams - shaping team quality practices from the ground up. The 6-person team builds both traditional product features and a growing set of AI-powered capabilities, so you'll need to be comfortable in systems where outputs aren't always deterministic. This goes beyond standard testing. You'll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and the broader QA guild to define how quality is measured and improved across the stack.
If you’re excited about combining strong QA fundamentals with emerging AI evaluation practices, this is a high-impact role with real ownership and impact potential.
Take ownership of team’s quality posture
Design test strategies and build both manual and automated tests, including end-to-end coverage
Review requirements and technical designs, providing early and meaningful feedback
Identify, document, and track bugs through to resolution
Track and report on QA metrics (e.g. defect rates, regressions, quality trends)
Contribute to evaluation frameworks for AI features, including identifying hallucinations, inconsistencies, and edge cases
Evaluate and introduce new QA tools, practices, and AI testing approaches.
5+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
Strong foundation in functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing
Experience writing clear, structured test plans and test cases
Experience with TypeScript and Playwright (or similar web automation stack)
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Ability to own and drive QA processes independently
Experience testing AI/LLM-based systems (e.g. evaluating outputs, detecting hallucinations or bias)
Familiarity with AI evaluation frameworks or prompt testing approaches
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern development workflows
Exposure to performance or security testing
Experience with C#, AWS, Github Actions
Background in SaaS, startups, or product-led environments
Ownership-driven: You don’t wait for direction - you identify & build what’s needed
Curious and analytical: You dig into problems and challenge assumptions
Detail-oriented: You catch what others miss
A strong communicator: You can influence engineers, product, and stakeholders
Adaptable: You thrive in fast-moving, evolving environments
Innovative: You’re excited by new approaches, especially in AI and automation
You'll shape how quality works across both traditional software and AI-powered features - in a team that's ready for it but hasn't had dedicated QA until now.
Success in this role means:
QA is fully integrated into the team’s workflow
Measurable reduction in production issues (especially AI-related)
Developers move faster with greater confidence in quality
Scalable QA and AI evaluation frameworks are in place
Best practices are shared across the QA guild and wider department
