Location: Remote (Australia-based)
Type: Part-Time / Employee
We’re a 15 year old software company transforming the way healthcare practitioners operate. Our platform serves customers across Australia and across the globe, and as we continue to scale, we’re looking for a finance leader who can bring structure, accuracy, and strategic insight to our growing business. We’re not a traditional corporate finance team - we move fast, automate everything we can, and care deeply about empowering teams with clear financial visibility.
As our Part-Time Financial Controller, you’ll own the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations and reporting. You’ll help us scale responsibly - building processes that balance agility with compliance, and providing the leadership team with actionable financial insights to drive decision-making.
This is a builder role, not a “maintainer” role. You’ll design, implement, and continuously improve the financial systems, processes, and controls that will support our next stage of growth. This role is ideal for someone who thrives creating clarity from complexity, and establishing scalable foundations where none yet exist.
Develop & drive SaaS metrics and insights - MRR, ARR, CAC, LTV, gross margin, churn through innovative reporting & dashboards that provide insight into business performance.
Provide financial analysis to support growth initiatives and strategic decisions.
Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) in Xero ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Partner with leadership to deliver budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
Maintain and refine internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance processes.
Support tax and regulatory filings in collaboration with external accountants and auditors.
Implement and optimise business intelligence software.
You’re a hands-on finance professional who can switch easily between tactical bookkeeping oversight and high-level financial strategy. You understand SaaS dynamics and love making numbers tell a story that drives action.
CPA / CA qualification (or equivalent).
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including SaaS or tech-scaleup exposure.
Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and compliance frameworks.
Experience managing multi-currency, remote, or global operations is a plus.
Proficient with cloud-based accounting tools (we use Xero).
Analytical and strategic mindset - ability to translate financial data into business insights (dashboards/reporting) through use of business intelligence software.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, business-partner mindset.
Approx. 1–2 days per week, with flexibility based on deliverables and reporting cycles.
This role may evolve to greater scope or hours as the company scales.
Work with a values-driven, growing SaaS company that believes people and numbers both matter.
Flexible. Work remotely, on your own regular schedule.
Opportunity to shape the financial backbone of a scaling tech business.
A team that moves fast, laughs often, and values continuous improvement.
