We’re looking for a Data Team Lead who’s excited by the idea of building the future, not just maintaining the present.This isn’t a traditional “manage a queue and keep the lights on” leadership role. We’re looking for someone technical, curious, collaborative, and genuinely excited about AI, automation, and scalable systems. Someone who sees repetitive manual work and immediately starts thinking,“Surely there’s a better way to do this.”
You’ll lead our Data Import team while helping evolve how we migrate customer data into Zanda, from highly manual workflows today toward smarter tooling, automation, AI-assisted mapping, and scalable onboarding experiences tomorrow. This is not an ivory tower role. You’ll be hands-on. You’ll solve problems. You’ll jump into customer issues when needed. You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering. And you’ll help shape the long-term vision for how onboarding works at Zanda.

Mentor and support our data migration team
Create clarity, accountability, and strong team rhythms
Support performance, coaching, development, and growth
Help the team navigate complexity, ambiguity, and changing priorities
Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve efficiency
Explore AI-assisted workflows and automation opportunities
Help modernise tooling and migration processes and think strategically about how onboarding should evolve over time
Complete imports and migrations, as part of a small specialist team where everyone stays close to the work.
Contribute directly to complex migrations and operational workflows
Act as an escalation point for tricky or high-impact customer issues
Work closely with the team day-to-day
Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Support, and Customer Success
Translate technical concepts into practical operational improvements
Advocate for customer experience improvements and smarter workflows
Improve turnaround times, accuracy, and migration quality
Reduce bottlenecks and operational friction
Help build scalable systems that support long-term company growth

We’re not looking for a “purist” engineer, but you should be technically confident and excited by emerging technology.
Ideally, you have experience with:
Excel for data cleaning, comparison, validation, formulas, lookups, and working with large or messy datasets
SQL / Postgres
Python or similar scripting experience preferred, particularly for automation or ETL improvements
Data migration or implementation workflows
Automation tooling
AI-assisted workflows or coding
Working with varied or unfamiliar data structures
SaaS environments
Cross-functional collaboration with Engineering/Product teams
Bonus points if you’ve:
Built internal tools or operational workflows
Worked in health-tech or onboarding environments
Used AI to improve productivity or solve operational problems
Led technical or operational teams before
In your first 12 months, we’d love to see:
